Current Procedures for Appointments
Any patients wishing to be seen must book an appointment in advance either by phoning the surgery at 027-63300 or requesting an appointment using the online portal.

If you have any symptoms that might suggest you have contracted Covid 19 you
must self isolate
​
if you have any of the following symptoms:
​

New onset Cough
-
Fever
-
Headache
-
Aches and pains
-
Shortness of breath
-
Extreme fatigue
-
Stuffed nose/feeling sinusy/sore throat

Please contact us on 027-63300 and you will be put through to a doctor or the secretary will take your details and the doctor will phone you back
Due to the unprecedented number of calls our lines are extremely busy and we ask you to please be patient and continue to phone us and please keep your request as concise as possible.
Please do not attend the surgery or request an appointment. This is to protect you and the healthcare staff. Your co-operation in this regard is greatly appreciated.
If your GP considers that you could possibly have contracted Covid 19 he/she will refer you for a test.
You will be notified of an appointment by the Public Health Department by text message and you need to ensure that you have this message with you when attending the test centre.
Please note if you have poor mobile coverage where you are located consider giving another person’s mobile phone number who would be willing to accept the text for you so that you don’t miss the appointment.
You must self-isolate until you receive the result of your test
If you have been diagnosed with Covid 19 i.e. your test is positive
​
You must continue to self-isolate for 10 days from the onset of symptoms and the last 5 days must be fever free. A member of the Public Health Team will contact you so that they can get a list of your close contacts and then they will make contact with these people.
​
If your Covid test result is negative ie it states that the virus was ‘not detected’
​
You must restrict your movements (stay at home) until you have not had any symptoms for 48 hours.
​
If you have been told that you are a Close Contact
​
You must restrict your movements for 14 days - please see here for further advise.
Please note that if you are caring for someone who has Covid and that person can’t self-isolate, such as a young child, you will have to restrict your movements for 17days
Illness Benefit for COVID-19 absence

If you have been told to self-isolate or restrict your movements by a doctor or you have been diagnosed with Covid 19 you may be entitled to an illness benefit. Please click here for further information
Protecting yourself and others from Covid 19

It is important that you:

wash your hands properly and often
-
practice social distancing
-
cover coughs and sneezes
Are you more vulnerable if you contract Covid 19?
​
Some people are more vulnerable to more serious disease if they were to contract Covid 19 such as:
Those over 60 years old
Those people who are immunosuppressed through illness eg lupus, multiple sclerosis or because of medication that they take eg chemotherapy
